Along The Way

I may be dating myself in this photo if those of you that go back to the days of film cameras are paying attention to the fact I'm shooting with a classic 40 year old Rollei 110 film camera.
In actuality this little 110 Rollei camera belonged to my dad who passed some years ago. It is a clamshell design and collapses on itself covering the viewfinder, lens and other controls when closed and being carried in its leather belt case.
This camera made in Germany is of an all metal build, and has a Tessar 2.8 23mm glass lens that produces photos that blow all other 110 film cameras of the day out of the water.
110 film is still available, and you don't need to process it yourself, as processing labs are still around for processing the film.
So there you have it, on occasion I like to take it with me and shoot with film reminding me of the days I shot with film cameras.
Of course on other occasions I still carry my Nikon FM 35mm film camera along that normally is loaded with Kodak Ectachrome 100 transparency film.
If you were wondering, I shot this self-portrait with a Fuji X-170 digital pocket camera, one of my favorites of all of the cameras that are part of my camera arsenal.
