The Service Rig
Anytime I come across a service rig or even a big rig for that matter, I am taken back to a time just after high school when I worked in the patch for a spell.
I remember the hot days of summer when we would be sent out on a job site, part of a frac crew to clean out a producing oil well that wasn't producing anymore.
I can still feel the sweat soaked coveralls we were forced to wear in the 35+ temperatures keeping the heavy crude covered pipe at bay from our sweaty bodies. We would strip off our outer clothes before climbing in to our coveralls and we still suffered.
Needless to say, I remember the lessons learnt and feel for the guys I see on occasion part of a frac crew, their equipment tied in to a wellhead.
The definition of a "Frac Crew".....
Collective term for the personnel required to run a successful hydraulic fracturing operation. Members of the frac crew prepare the equipment on the wellsite prior to the operation, mix and pump the necessary chemicals and fluids during the frac job and render the wellsite location safe following the completion of the operation.
