Rainy Kind of Day
So I spot this barn with the white fence and see the potential for a photograph.
Problem is that it was pouring rain if you look off in the distance, and without an umbrella to shelter myself, I shot the scene out the open window of my truck. With a towel to keep moping the water of my camera and the inside of my truck, I got the shot I was looking for.
Now the camera is waterproof to a point, with a rubber sealing gasket between the lens and the camera body, but the front element is not waterproof without a filter screwed in place, so a lenshood kept the front element dry.
"Think Tank" the makers of camera accessories bags do make waterproof skins for DSLR's and specific lens that are popular with sports photographers and wildlife photographers, and although I have looked at them, they are pricy if you don't have need for them on a regular bases.
Meanwhile, I'll keep moping the water off of my cameras with a towel!
