Waiting for the Train
While I was waiting for CP's business train out of Calgary, the Brooks sub seen in the background, I was joined by my fine feathered friends arriving for breakfast.
What I found interesting about this flock of geese, is the fact that this flock was made up of Snow geese and White-fronted geese, the white-fronted geese (dark colored) identified by the white at the base of their pink bills.
There possibly were a few Brant geese in the flock as well, but my binoculars were not giving me a close enough view to confirm that.
Although I did see a few Canada geese, they were in the minority on this morning.
Of course at this time of the year, the snow geese and white-fronted geese are passing through Alberta on their fall migration to warmer climates.
