G3 Irricana
Three weeks earlier the only part of this G3 grain terminal located south of Irricana AB, that was standing were several of the auxiliary steel bins, the other one being worked on. Once the pour on the main concrete structure was begun, It only took about 10 days to 14 days to pour from the start of the slip. It takes longer to build the forms and strip them off after than it does to pour and slip the elevator.
Today as you can see the main elevator has a lot going on with work continuing 24 hours a day as concrete is being poured up top.
Although its not readily apparent in this photo just after 6 am, there is a beehive of activity happening up top of the elevator, with workers running around up top with lots of wheel barrows, taking the concrete from the pumper to different spots around the slip, to fill the forms and intercises. Earlier the crane was swinging up another bundle of rods for the rod punchers.
If you look close just beyond the pond what looks like a gravel road is actuality a section of the loop track although the track has not been laid yet.
It won't be long I'll be shooting photos of the elevator with grain trains on the loop track.
