Remembering Those Who Fought & Died
Although I'm a frequent visitor to the Union cemetery located in southeast Calgary, on November 11th I make a point of visiting and stopping at the military section (seen here).
On this morning I arrived as the dawn breaks over the graves of those that served and lost their lives.
I had two uncles (now passed) who served in world war II and were fortunate enough to survive the war.
November 11 marks the date and time when armies stopped fighting World War I. on November 11th at 11am in 1918 (the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month). Some 100,000 Canadian soldiers died in the First and Second World Wars.
