The Movie Show
While out walking near Stanley Park in Vancouver, I came up on a scene right out of the 1960's.That's where I met Jessie whom was shooting a scene with her Bolex H16 REX-5 film camera. If you've never seen one, they stand out as they have a highly polished aluminium body covered in genuine Morocco leather. Metal parts are chrome-plated.
If you were in to movie cameras in the day, and still today, the ultimate camera for shooting movies with film is a Bolex. Over the years I collected old cameras and although I had a fair collection of 8mm and 16mm movie cameras, I never got to own a Bolex camera, as they always commanded more money than I wanted to pay for a camera to place on the shelf.
Today Bolex cameras are more popular than ever for shooting movies with film.
