Along The Way

Here To There
I recently acquired a 55-200mm lens (80-300 full frame equivalent) for one of my compact mirrorless cameras equipped with an APS-C sensor making this combination my favorite carry these days when needing a lightweight medium length telephoto lens, especially while shooting handheld with it's 5 stop image stabilization advantage.
Now for the most part over the past 10 years I have shot with full-frame DSLRs that have served me well and continue to do so.
I've mentioned before that the reason for adding a mirrorless system to my camera arsenal was to have a lighter option when it comes to street & field photograpghy. My mirrorless cameras are a joy to carry and use with the photos shot more than capable of holding their own when compared to my full frame DSLRs.
Now one place an APS-C camera body is at a disadvantage is on the wide end where beautiful bokeh (blur) can be a challenge to achieve in comparison to shooting with a full frame sensor camera that does produce beautiful bokeh when shooting portraits with a fast portrait lens.
Having said that, I love the greater depth of field achieved when shooting with a lens like the 55-200mm lens mounted on one of my mirrorless APS-C camera bodies as I was using on this morning.
The camera taking the photo is set for aperture priority with f16 selected on the lens and the camera focused on the trees 200 meters in the distance. I stepped in to the frame as seen in the photo, and for the most part I am in focus while positioned only 12-15 feet in front of the camera, thus the greater depth of field with the APS-C sensor equipped body.
