The Prairie Coulee at Sunrise
Fall being the time of year when colors on the landscape pop, in southern Alberta we don't experience the variation in colors that are prominent in Eastern Canada and the New England states.
Years ago my sister and brother-in-law lived in the Adirondack mountains in the Lake George area of New York state, and in the fall the foliage was a photographer's dream. I spent many a day while visiting photographing the landscape in the areas surrounding their country home overlooking Lake George and in Vermont next door to where they lived in New York state..
Still, if you know where to look here in Southern AB, you can find color that includes a variation of red, orange, yellow, and green like I did on this morning while hiking the valley ridges overlooking the Bow River valley southeast of Calgary just after sunrise when the colors of the landscape are at their best.
