Where's The Duck
So a couple of days ago, there was a rare bird alert for the sighting of a Tufted Duck spotted by a bird watcher out at Weed Lake located east of Langdon.
Now a Tufted duck seen in AB is big news for bird watchers who will drive hundreds of miles to view this rare visitor to AB.
The Tufted duck is native to Eurasia, and would normaly be a rare visitor to the outher Aleutians, Alaska, and on occasion along the coast of British Columbia.
Early morning I drove out to check on the goings on at Weed Lake, thinking that the bird watchers might be more interesting to photograpgh than the duck, I wasn't disappointed!
Yes they were social distancing, as I shot this with a long lens creating a compressed photograph.
I may not have seen the duck, but I was pleased to have shot this photograph of a Merlin with her breakfast.....
