Where's The Momma
I spotted this immature Bald Eagle soaring along the ridges of the river valley south of Carsland AB.
I was fortunate to be nearby when he landed on this old fence post with a high vantage point overlooking the valley, allowing him to keep an eye out for his next meal while I shot severl photos of him.
I find immature Bald Eagles to be quite un-sightly to look at in their first two years. At the end of the second year their plumage takes on the look of a mature eagle including the white feathers on their head.
