The Bull Elk and his Harem
At this time of the year the dominant bull elk begin rounding up their females. The mountains and on the plains such as on this morning echoed with the trumpeting elk calls.
While out and about I saw this herd of elk, numbering around 50 or so animals.
A few younger males were hanging around the periphery.
