Camera Trap
Depending which way you look at it, either I'm setting up a camera trap, or I got caught in one!
The height that you place the camera on the tree is important, depending on the terrain and the wildlife you plan on capturing photos or videos of with the camera.
In this photo, the height that I placed the camera at may look somewhat high, but what you don't see is the gradual up-hill slope running away from the camera's position.
All things you have to take into consideration, and then the final thing to do is place the camera in test mode, which allows you to see what the camera sees by walking the area you wish to capture with the camera, and as you do this, a red LED on the front of the camera illuminates when the camera detects the motion of my walking around in front of it.
Once I've done this, then the camera is placed in operational mode before closing up the front, and locking everything down.
Of course now I get to see if I did my homework as to the area that I selected for my camera trap.
