On The Wing
If you look close at this photo (expand it), you can see where my point of focus was.
Shooting photos of birds on the wing reminds me of when I was a teenager growing up in southern Saskatchewan.
My friends and I were avid game bird hunters.
We would come up on a covey of partridge, and we learnt the hard way that if we shot in the general direction of the partridges (flock shoot) as they flew away, without picking a individual bird out as a point of aim, we went home empty handed.
If we picked a individual bird out, our chances of bagging a partridge increased.
My point is, when photographing a flock of birds on the wing, pick your target, or you will have nothing but a blurry photo to go home with.
BTW, I only hunt with a camera now days.
