Home Sweet Home
I love Pileated woodpeckers, and it is always thrilling to see them.
Even if you don't see them, you may have seen foraging cavities like the one in this photo, a sure sign that there are Pileated woodpeckers around.
This male Pileated woodpecker did not pay me any attention as he he opened up that cavity in record time as he foraged for insects.
The Pileated woodpecker is NA's largest woodpecker, and is the size of a crow.
