Winging South
I caught these Snow Geese feeding in a stubble field near Hussar AB, before they continue on with their fall migration to their winter homes located in the southern US and northern Mexico.
They would have left their summer homes in the high Arctic very recently, as they fly day and night while migrating averaging 50 mph while in flight.
Snow geese migrate in huge flocks, and they are a sight to behold when they lift off of a slough or field and hit the sky.
