Wild Species
Home Sweet Home
I t pays to pay attention while out in nature, as I noticed these two Black Capped Chickadees watching me, and I though possibly they were waiting for a hand-out, when in actuality I was standing by the tree that they were busy building a nest in, and they were patiently waiting for me to move on.
The female in my photo has just arrived with nesting material, and the nest is located directly beneath her in this tree that hides a hollow where she entered with the nesting material to add to the nest.
The nest is located well in there, as either chickadee would completely disappear from sight, when they dropped in to the hollow where the nest is located.
Very cool place for a nest, and I will have to check it out again when I'm in the area to see how things are progressing.
