Trails Across The Prairies
Nor’easter
With a biting wind blowing out of the NE, and exposed on the ridges overlooking this valley, I decided that it was time to call it done and head back to my truck, the prospect of that not that inviting, considering I would be feeling some of that wind on my face.
Funny thing was that I had observed a couple of guys on snowshoes who were wearing full face-masks, and they gave it up before I did heading back to their vehicles parked not that far from where I had parked my pickup south of Dalemead AB.
The temperature was sitting at -17 Celsius with light snow when I had left my truck, and upon returning to my truck a hour later, the snow got real serious along with the temperature having fallen to -20 C with swirling winds blowing the snow around causing near white-out conditions at times on my drive home.
Still, I was pleased with my short trek out and about, as the weather forecast for the next couple of days would be keeping me close to home, or at least if out driving, not getting too far from my truck.
