Side Tracked
For thousands of years wild chokecherry bushes have dotted the coulees and sidehills of the Grasslands of the Great Plains of North America.
While out tramping through the grasslands of eastern AB, I come across chokecherry bushes regularely and this morning was no different.
The chokecherry crop is not as big as in other years, although there are berries on the bushes seen here just in front of my pack now reaching maturity.
I find it interesting as to the wildlife that eat chokecherry berries, the telltale signs the animal scats that I come across that contain the remnants of chokecherries.
