Trails Across The Prairies
Changing Conditions
On a blustery kind of day with the temperature hovering around -12 Celsius (without the wind factored in) and fog blanketing the range of hills that I was exploring on this day, I had purposely picked the day to check out several pieces of new gear that I'd recently acquired.
One of the items was an insulated pad (not seen, its in my pack) made to sit on separating you from the snow covered ground, or while possibly sitting in a ground blind, or maybe just kicking back with a cup of coffee you just brewed while out on the trail.
The other item that I was testing on this day is the hand muff warmer you see me wearing around my waist with my shooting hand stuffed in it allowing my hand to stay toasty-warm.
There are a lot of glove options out there that work well but unfortunately, sacrifice dexterity and full use of your hands. Having a nice quality hand muff allows you to remain comfortable and also enables you to keep your fingers exposed, giving you the best possible means of handling one's camera or my bow on this day.
Now be aware that I also had a pair of fleece gloves stored in my pack as well for a back up.
