Trails Across The Prairies
Frontier Style
So although I have shot and continue to shoot and sell a fair amount of different themed photographs to different types of publications, this Backwoodsman magazine cover with my photo gracing the front of the May/June 2021 issue I am most pleased with I must say.
I shot the photo a self portrait while out tramping through the grasslands of southeastern AB with my hybrid longbow, the scene overlooking the Bow river as a rain shower moves across the landscape in the distance.
Having enjoyed many years of spending time in the outdoors enjoying various types of activities whether it be fly-fishing on a high mountain stream, or fly-fishing while tubing on a small backcountry mountain lake, or out and about with either my black powder muzzleloader or one of my traditional longbows these days, maybe hiking in the mountains while dragging my homebuilt 4x5 view camera along, or snowshoeing in the winter months, I have and still enjoy all things related to the outdoors. I believe this photo speaks to some of that.

Oh, on a final note, Backwoodsman Magazine is a terrific magazine if you enjoy experiencing the frontier style of living of 50 to 100 years ago, highly recommended reading.
