Five Of Diamonds
I attended the Remembrance Day ceremonies held at CP Headquarters in the Ogden district of Calgary, where 5 newly rebuilt SD70ACU locomotives wearing military colors were unveiled to the public.
Leading the pack is CP 7020 in Nato green and black markings in a simplified design inspired by modern fighting vehicles.
In second spot is CP 7021 in Desert Sand with black markings in a simplified design inspired by modern fighting machines used in recent conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq.
In 3rd spot is CP 7022 painted RCN Shipside Grey and with black markings and a black band to mimic the "boot top strip" used in the color pattern of modern warships.
In 4th spot is CP 7023 painted in a two-tone "sky camouflage" pattern using Light Ghost Grey and Medium Grey, the same colors used on CF-18 fighter jets.
Bringing up the rear is CP 6644 painted in RAF Dark Green and RAF Ocean Grey, using a camouflage pattern inspired by Allied Spitfire aircraft used during the Second World War.
