The Whole Shebang
I actually wasn't planning on shooting photos of an oil train earlier when I set out from the Alyth yard in Calgary, as I had spotted a mix manifest train with 7 engines up front, one being CN 3871 engine and another CP 7021, lead by CP 8853 about to strike out north on the Red Deer sub.
After several stops for photos up to Crossfield, and while waiting for the train to show up just north of Airdrie, this southbound oil train lead by CP 8857 & UP 7073 with UP 5855 the tail end remote put in an appearance, and I got caught up in photographing the train as they climbed the grade in to Airdrie seen in the distance.
