Trains and Such
This gallery has been my most successful to date for purchases of my photos.
Trackside
When I purchased a new vehicle some years ago, I had a list of requirements that this vehicle had to check off. One of the requirements was that I needed a vehicle that allowed me to shoot photographs off of it to gain some height off of the ground.
My Avalanche allows for this, as the cargo bay cover is designed to handle 250 lbs on it. The advantages are many, allowing you to shoot over security fences for one thing. It also allows me to shoot photos of trains positioned higher off the ground creating a more pleasing photo.
Although I shoot many of my train photos by hand-holding my camera as seen in this photo, many of my train photos are shot with the use of a tripod positioned on the cargo bay cover.
This link photo was shot with the use of my tripod positioned on the cargo-bay cover of my Av, as I needed the extra elevation to allow more of this stack train to be seen that was being shielded by not only the train, but also by the hill with the cut in it.....
