The Railfan
In this case he is fleeing from the passing train if you look close, or expand the photo for a closer look.
Yep, that's a male snowy owl seen just in front of the lead engine's fuel tank, the snowy owl winging his way to another local, after being spooked off a nearby fencepost by this CN intermodal train coming up the track on the Three Hills sub.
There actually were 2 snowy owls initially, but I missed capturing the first one, but was ready for this male to wing it across the path of the on coming train.
