Crossing Over
Funny how things go, as I had just got back to my truck after several hours out hiking in the hills overlooking the Bow river south of Dalemead AB.
I turn my radio stack on including my scanner and the speaker comes to life with a westbound freight train clearing the west crossing at Dalemead on its way in to Calgary.
I thought to myself "great, 5 minutes earlier and I could have been catching that train up the road." So I get in my truck and drive up the road the 6 kilometers to where the Brooks sub crosses over the road I'm on. As I get closer I realize that the train is still on the crossing as I drive up.
I get out of my truck with my camera and look at the train about to clear the crossing and think "Well here's nothing!"
On the technical side of things, I find it interesting how the part of the image that shows the train through two different windows, and the open door create different colors and even distortion in the windshield corner.
