I'm finding out that the many visitors to my train gallery have a love of trains as I do.

Waiting for the Train
While waiting for this K&S potash train being powered by lead locomotives CP 8922, 9735, and CP 8740, and the mid-train remote CP 8908 to show, when it did put in an appearance it was at least 5 kilometers away from my location in this photo.
I switched out the lens that I planned on shooting it with for my long lens, framed it up and shot this image.
It was another 5 minutes before it passed by me on the Brooks sub near Strangmuir siding east of Carsland where I was waiting for it to arrive.
Also included in the photo is the Pioneer Inland grain terminal seen off in the distance that also sits beside the Brooks sub west of Carsland AB..
If your wondering how the train got from the Pioneer elevator to where its seen in the photo, the track bends to the right after passing through Carsland partially seen just above the train on the far left side of the photo.
The distortion visible in the photo is due to heat-waves dancing on the landscape, and magnified with the higher magnification long lens being used to shoot the image.

Here is the same train as it passes through mile 139 on the Brooks sub minutes later.....
