GMTX 214 is parked at the Alyth Diesel Shop in Calgary, where it possibly is waiting to enter the shop for service work.
For those of you not in the know, GMTX 214 is a 1,500 hp vintage diesel switcher locomotive being one of those produced by General Motors' Electro-Motive Division between March 1974 and January 1983.
Today it is rare to see one (well for me anyway).
My interest in diesel switchers centers around a 1950's era HO DCC (digital command control) shelf switching layout that I designed and built, and resides in my home.
