Trains and Such
This gallery has been one of my most successful to date for purchases of my photos.
One Winter Day
With my wife riding shotgun, we had backroaded over to Harrington AB from the Aldersyde road to check on the grain hoppers being stored by CP on the spur that for the most part is not used except for 14 miles on the tail end that is leased to Aspen Crossing on which they operate their tourist train.
After driving a complete circle around the hoppers over various backroads allowing for different photographic views of the grain hoppers, I also shot photos of the lone remaining elevator in Harrington.
Once we were done exploring what remains of Harrington and the elevator, we drove cross-country over to Mossleigh, the plan to have a beer and a hamburger in the Bergquist House tavern located at Aspen Crossing.
While making the approach to Mossleigh, coming up over a rise in the road gave us commanding views of the Mossleigh elevators and surrounding countryside.
It's not like the first time I've shot photos of the remaining elevators in Mossleigh, but the view on this afternoon demanded just one more photo be shot. It goes without saying that the rolling stock seen on the track by the elevators belongs to Aspen Crossing.
Quenching out thirst and hunger at the Bergquist House tavern located at Aspen Crossing proved to be fun, setting up for the run north back to Calgary.
