Trains and Such
This gallery has been one of my most successful to date for purchases of my photos.
Short Line
Recently while doing some business in the southeast part of Calgary, and with my scanner on, I heard what sounded like the possibility that a train was leaving the Sarcee yard and moving out onto the Drumheller sub.
I drove over in that direction and caught CN 7078, CN 7077 delivering cars to an industry located just east of Calgary.
Of course you may not know that the Drumheller sub ends just past Lyalta AB, and rarely do you see trains out that way considering CN only services what was the Louis Dreyfus elevator and for your information the elevator is now owned by P&H, with the name change shown on the sign leading in to the elevator off of highway 9. It makes one wonder if their string of LD hoppers will see the name change as well.
The unique Buffalo 2000 elevator located in Lyalta and owned by Canada Malting rarely sees any action on the track nearing the end of the Drumheller sub.
