In The Beginning
Antenna work continues
This photo finds me turning the end-caps for my latest 10/80 meter antenna under construction in my shop. The material that I am using is Delrin®. Delrin is a crystalline plastic that offers an excellent balance of properties that bridge the gap between metals and plastics. Delrin possesses high tensile strength, creep resistance and toughness, as well as being rf transparent, most important when used as part of the coil assembly. It also exhibits low moisture absorption. These properties along with its fatigue endurance make Delrin ideal for the many antenna projects that I have been involved in including my latest creation taking shape in my shop.
