Removing a sheared off fastener
I know I have those of you that like machine shop work, and those of you that are in to ham radio.
For the shop guys this is an antenna that is used for mounting on your vehicle and connects up to a transceiver allowing communications around the glob.
This antenna is made by Yaesu and is their model Atas 120 that covers 10-40 meters.
This particular antenna had been exposed to the environment for too long without being serviced, and the end result was a sheared off base fastener when a attempt was made to remove the 3 machine screws holding the base in the bottom of the mast assembly.
I see quite a number of these antennas come through my shop for repair, and if your interested in reading about how the repair was accomplished, follow this link that will take you to my antenna gallery....
