Portable Antenna Taking Shape
As you can see in this photo, my 10-60 meter antenna under construction in my shop at the time taking shape.
At this point the coil-assembly was close to done with a Delrin core running through the center of the air-coil supported by Lexan end-caps within the coil.
The end adapters were turned from brass to fit the 5/8ths diameter Delrin core and threaded 3/8ths X 24 TPI to allow the 12 foot whip assembly to be fastened to the coil assembly.
Next in line to be completed was the mast assembly consisting of 3 sections of hi-tensile 6061 T6 1/2" aluminum rod with each section measuring 28" in length, allowing for mast sections to be added or subtracted if desired.
