VE6AB Antenna Werks
Gearmotor Antenna - Nearing Completion
Been There - Done That!
Well other than a few small details, like the trim piece at the bottom of the coil cover, and riviting my builders plate in place, its done.
Not only that, but earlier I took it outside and placed it on my mobile, where I checked it out on the various bands. I then checked in on the Alberta Public Service Net,on 3700 Mhz, where one of the guys Earl VE6TJ had me move up to 3710 Mhz where we discused the fall colors out his way in Water Valley, located about 50 kilometers west of Didsbury. Upon hearing that I had just installed my new antenna, Earl gave me a 59 report, and thats what I wanted to hear.
You gotta love it, when a new antenna performs well upon its initial test-drive.
Of course it goes without saying that I will be running extensive tests with this new gearmotor antenna installed on my mobile.
