10-40 Meter Takedown Magnetic Loop Antenna
So this is my latest rendition of a TD-MLA built using thin-wall hi-tensile 3/4" OD Aluminum tubing for the primary 36" loop.
As you can tell from the photo, the primary loop consists of nine 12" segments, and can be quickly assembled or disassembled.
The segments are keyed, so they line up automatically when they are assembled forming the primary loop.
Each individual segment has a unique number stamped in one end identifying its position in the primary loop.
NOTE....although the control housing is seen with SO-239 connectors on either side, they have been replaced with aluminum adapters machined to fit in the place of the SO-239 connectors as seen here with the loop attached to these adapters through the use of knurled tumbnuts on either side.....
