What It Takes
As most of you know I've had this website that displays photos that I shoot for quite a number of years.
It is a rare day that I don't head out with my cameras shooting photos for one or more of my galleries, depending on what I'm involved in for the day.
A long time ago I discovered that keeping my galleries freshly updated adds to the numbers on my statistics page as to what you are looking at when visiting my galleries. In fact this also dictates how long I leave a particular photo as the lead photo of a gallery based on the interest in that photo.
I can zero in on what gallery is receiving the most visits, and what particular photo is receiving the most looks.
I also know that weekends and holidays drives the statistics down with more of you out doing something other than sitting in front of your computer.
I normally do not have less than about 2000 photos clicked on everyday on the average or 60,000 views in a month as a low. My all time high was 750,000 views in one month.
I have also learn't over time what it takes to drive visitors to my website, making my website and photos discoverable through various sites like Pinterest, Blogger, Search Engines like Google, Social Media, etc.
Of course it goes without saying that a big part of my shooting photos is to sell them, whether it be through my website, photo shoots I’m involved in, or various publications and companies that I have sold photos to and continue to do so.
Here is a look at the latest month from December 15 2021 - January 14 2022, although I grabbed the view of the Statistics page midway through January 14.
