iOS APRS Magic
My iPhone running iOS APRS mapping, beaconing via RF, the works!
I'm getting to do this with the latest device from Mobilinkd, their recently released TNC3 that you see here mounted on the rear of my Kenwood D72, and communicating via Bluetooth with my iPhone running an iOS APRS app.
The TNC3 builds upon the success of the TNC2 that I also have in my stable of tnc's, but offers a whole new class of performance with a number of significant new features and enhancements.
Bluetooth 4.2 support (dual-mode EDR/LE) iOS Compatible
USB serial port
DCD and TX indicator LEDs
More powerful DSP and modem
Higher dynamic range ADCs and DACs
Buffered inputs and outputs
Input amplifier for improved input level matching across a wider range of radios
Optimized for packet radio
900mAh rechargeable battery.
Over the coming days, I'll be running tests with this new device, and will be doing a review of it.
