Kite Lines
With my recent resurrection in flying kites once more, and in particular larger single-line kites, it soon became apparent that I needed a better means of controlling these kites.
After doing research as to what I needed, I went with a EMMAKITES 8.7in kite reel. This high performance reel is extremely solid with a mechanism allowing for free rotation, anti reverse, and locked, selectable while flying the kite.
Multiple stainless-steel ball bearings are sealed on the reel for smooth rotation, with a ceramic ring line-guide capable of effectively guiding the Dacron kite line into reel.
The kite line that I have loaded on the reel is 500ft of 120lb braided Dacron line, although I believe the reel will allow for 1000ft of 120lb line.
This kite reel is proving to be a joy for flying single-line kites of all sizes.
