DC Powerpack end view
On the left is a marine grade power receptacle that is an upgrade from the generic receptacles normally found..
The next device to the right of the power receptacle is a LED battery power level indicator, with a mating plug for my Genius smart-charger.
The 110 volt flush mount outlet, is wired to a small 12 volt to 110 volt inverter mounted under the cover, suitable for powering a laptop, wall-wart chargers, etc.
Its worth stating that all these devices are wired through a master shut-off switch, effectively powering down the entire powerpack when not in use.

on December 29, 2015Welcome to the hobby, you'll have fun with it. If you want to shortcut building a power-pack similar to this one, check out the battery boxes at a outdoor store that sells electric trolling motors. they have boxes with accessories already installed that work well for our purpose, and then its a simple matter to add in the extras like powerpoles and the other accessories you may want to add.

on December 28, 2015I just found your website and awesome stuff. i am new ham and have very limited experience in electronics. I am looking at building a " all inclusive" battery like yours. A one place where I could charge my though book, Yaesue vx-6r, Baofeng uv-5r, tablet. I am using the Noco genius G1100. Any tips?
