VE6AB Technical
The Technical Department
I am the type of guy that puts a lot of thought and effort into what I choose as to the type of equipment that I select for my personal use.
When I decide that I need a new piece of gear, I may spend days or even weeks researching it before pulling the trigger in purchasing it.
Now having said that, on rare occasion I may come to realize that I made the wrong choice, but that is not too often as good research pays dividends in making the right choices.
I also put the same kind of effort into the research & design that goes in to one of the projects that is or will be built in my machine shop.
A close friend of mine says this about me "Jerry never stops shopping" and initially I took offence from her words, as I was of the belief that I only went shopping when I needed something.
But after I thought about it, I realized that she is correct to some degree, as I may not be shopping in the sense that I am looking for something in particular, but I am always keeping myself up to speed as to what's available in the marketplace in regards to just about anything that my brain connects with and stores away.
I also believe that I see somewhat differently than everyone else while doing my "research", whether it be on line, in a hardware store, or in any other kind of store, as I see everything around me as something that can be used for something other than what the manufacturer intended.
Remember.....Its not just what you look at, but what you see, and that's how I am wired, as going back as far as I can remember, my thought process has always functioned in this manner.
So yes you could say that I'm always shopping, but in actuality, I call it "Doing Research on a continual bases," as I am very much aware as what's new and available, and I take this information that I gather up, and I store it in one of my memory banks in my mind, for the day that I may need to retrieve the information for my own use or to share with someone like yourself.
I initially added this gallery 'VE6AB Technical' to make space for some of the content that resided in my other Amateur Radio galleries, that didn't seem to fit there.
After moving that content from those galleries into this one, I realized that I was on to something based on the growing favorable statistics for this gallery, as the numbers continue to grow in relation to those who are finding the information that I am sharing here of interest to them.
I also know from the statistics for this gallery, what you are finding to be the most interesting to you, and I will continue to move in that direction as I add content to this gallery.
Now understand that what you see and are reading about in this gallery is about what interests me, as its all about what I like and I want to share with you.
If something turns out to not meet my standards (I set the bar very high) you will not find it within these pages.
There is no particular direction in which I am going with my 'VE6AB Technical' gallery, but I hope you continue to find it of interest regardless.
The gallery is in no particular order, so you will need to look through it to find what interests you, and do remember that all my images include supportive text.
Do visit my other amateur radio galleries, as they also contain a large amount of technical information related specifically to how the galleries are titled.
Here is a link to a page in my 'Projects In Metal' gallery that gives you some insight as to how I look at things, and see something else,....
