Rii Wireless Keypad
I had been looking for a tiny wireless keyboard that would work with my various devices that I use in my mobile.
I actually found this one through a friend of mine who uses one with his laptop running Windows 7.
This device by Rii is a 3 in 1 Multifunction 2.4GHz Mini Wireless QWERTY keyboard touchpad combo, LED backlit with the included USB interface dongle.
The touchpad supports multi-finger functions, and a single finger click acts as a left mouse function, a two-finger click acts as the right mouse function, and a double finger drag on the trackpad scrolls the screen.
I ordered this one up off of Amazon, and as soon as I received it, I tried it out with my netbook running Windows 7, and it was as simple as inserting the supplied dongle into one of the USB ports on the side of my netbook, turn on the switch on the side of the Rii keyboard and done, it was good to go with the cursor appearing instantly on the screen of my netbook.
I next tried it with my Blackberry smartphone with the use of a OTG cable to insert the dongle into, and bingo, good to go immediately without any extra steps as the cursor appeared on the screen instantly ready for use.
If you expand the photo, and look close at the pale blue triangle to the right of center of my phone, you can see the cursor being controlled by my finger on the track-pad of the Rii mini I8
For the most part it functions well, although a lot of the dedicated keys do nothing on my smartphone depending what I'm using it for.
I found it works well for watching Netflix on my smartphone or on my computer, and it allows you to hold the keyboard in your hands while controlling your devices located at some distance away.
While researching the keypad on Amazon, many of the users that reviewed the unit use it for controlling their home theater PC units.
The one I have is the updated 2015 backlit model Rii mini i8+ with a built in rechargable Li-ion battery, as well as the receiver dongle.
It also included the required dual USB cable required for charging the built in Li-ion battery while the receiver is connected to the second port on the cable.
When not in use, the receiver dongle is stored in the back of the keyboard in a hatch that resides there.
Be aware when sourcing thie Rii mini i8 keypad that there are clones out there.
The one I have is the genuine model that came in properly branded packaging with a holographic seal on the box to show authenticity.
