Power Can Mods
Recently I realized that I had a need for a second 30 amp output powerpole connection (mainly for charging options) on my 30 caliber 12 volt power-can.
I just installed this second powerpole connector along with a protective housing made from black Delrin as seen in this photo.
I have been asked why I oriented the powerpoles the way they are mounted on the power-can lid. This is to give maximum support and protection to not only the permanently mounted powerpole connections on the power-can, but also to give the same support and protection to the temporarily connected up powerpole cables.
While I was it, I also changed out the 12 volt receptacle to a heavy-duty marine grade unit, that as proven to be superior to the receptacle I replaced.
I have one of these marine-grade 12 volt receptacles installed on my larger 12 volt power-pack as well, where it has proven itself through usage over the last couple of years.

Pressing the red momentary button mounted in the top of the power-can at the far end, indicates the condition of the battery by the LED's imbedded in the metal lid of the power-can.
