Staying On Top
On this day you find me in the backcountry of Kananaskis Country, located along the front ranges of the Alberta Rockies.
I was out running tests with my recently acquired snowshoes that replaced an old pair of snowshoes, no longer meeting the requirements I required.
Of course I don't leave home, or in particular my mobile without one of my APRS devices along.
On this day I was equipped with my Kenwood D72 HT that is visible in the photo, where it is attached to the straps of my daypack.
Although I had my mobile set up as a fill-in digipeater, it wasn't necessary on this day, as the digipeater on Pigeon Mountain was hearing me direct, and not only digipeating my packets, but being this solar powered mountaintop repeater has a Internet connection, it was also placing me on the map at aprs.fi.

Here is a mini review with specs for the new pair of snowshoes I acquired.....
