Solar Battery Charging
So what your looking at here is the charge controller that is connected to the solar panel sitting on the dash of my mobile.
With the solar panel inside the vehicle, I am able to lock it down while I am away from my mobile, yet the solar panel is charging the battery, while my Kenwood TH-D710 is in cross-band mode, allowing me to use my HT from a distance, and comfortable that the mains battery is being maintained.
The charge controller, as well as the solar panel are not mounted permanently, as they may be used elsewhere or stored in my bug-out-box located in the cargo area before getting underway.
