Staying Connected on the Trail
Early morning finds me out hiking at McKinnon Flats located in the river valley that the Bow river flows through.
I am hiking up the valley to an interesting looking formation of Hoodoos located on a ridge overlooking the valley that the Bow river flows through.
In this photo I am cross-banding via the Kenwood D710A mounted in my mobile with my Yaesu VX-8R.
If the rubber-duck antenna is not up to the challenge of connecting to my mobile, also along is my take-down yagi slashed to the side of my daypack.
I also have my smartphone and my UV-3R/Mobilinkd TNC as seen fastened to my pack that are being digipeated via my ABWX weather station mounted in the cargo bay of my mobile located several kilometers away.
