VE6AB Portable Ops
Radio On The Rocks
A blustery kinda afternoon finds me located on a high vantage point in southern Alberta working 17 meters with my Yaesu FT-897D connected up to my 10-60 meter vertical antenna mounted on my manpack.
I also ran some tests with my take-down 2 meter yagi connected to my FT-897D, a combination that I had not tried before.
The two paired together proved to work quite well, with contacts made with distant stations that would not have been possible with my Kenwood D72 that I also had along with me.
