VE6AB Portable Ops
Lets see.....Which way is North
Early morning finds me headed out with everything I need to operate HF portable.
In my pack is my Yaesu FT-897D with its internal batteries, as well as the other essentials required for operating in a remote area.
I also have my 10-60 meter portable vertical antenna loaded in my pack as well.
The antenna in its broken down form fits nicely in the pack with the mast pieces and the collapsed whip lashed to the outside of the pack.
In my hands is my Kenwood D72 that I am looking at making sure that it is communicating with my mobile parked off in the distance.
After getting underway, and as the temperature climbed with the sun heating things up, it wasn't too long before I pealed off my jacket and stored it in my pack.
