While looking through my Kodachrome slide albums recently, I came across this photo that dates back to when I was working satellite's regularly, with this photo actually shot on slide film in 2000.
Of course the equipment or at least some of it is dated today, but what was being used at the time for working low orbit satellites.
The Palm tungsten PDA long obsolete stands out used with a satellite tracking program, a Yaesu VX-5 HT with external amplifier, an external speaker and mic for the HT, as well as a ARR preamp and a diplexer all mounted on a tripod.
The Arrow antenna had a Manfrotto pistol-grip ball-mount for easy steering of the antenna while working the birds.
