Kneeboard
In this photo, you find me working a satellite pass of SO50, but the interesting thing that I wanted to bring to your attention, is the kneeboard strapped to my left leg (I'm a lefty). Those of you who are pilots, are familiar with the convinience and importance of a kneeboard. Years ago, I aquired my private pilots licence, and used kneeboards, but having got away from flying, I forgot how convienient a kneeboard is, and lately, I've come to realize that they are a very handy accessory to have while mobile.
This durable brushed aluminum kneeboard is superb for jotting down callsigns and other information, while working hams on the various bands. It also is comfortable, with a 1-1/2" wide elastic legband that hugs the leg without binding, and includes a velcro fastener. There also is pencil/pen holder for keeping your favorite pen handy. The 4-3/4" wide metal clip is easy to lift and strong enough to hold charts and other necessary papers.
The other very cool thing that all hams will like, is the information that is etched in to the surface of the kneeboard, including the phonetic alphabet, UTC time conversion, VHF communication frequencies, VFR cruising altitudes, VFR ceiling, visibility & cloud clearence, and more. Very cool, and in-expensive, pick one up at your nearest pilot supply outlet, or just google "ASA VFR Kneeboard".
