VE6AB Mobile Ops
The Southern Alberta Rockpile
Early morning finds me backroading in the high country west of Turner Valley Alberta along the eastern slope of the Rockies
I'm glassing a small herd of Bighorn mountain sheep grazing nearby, and will hike in a little closer to them.
That will also allow me a look into the canyon located about 1/2 kilometer in the distance that the Sheep river flows through allowing me to check on water conditions.
The fishing season for the streams located in this area open soon, and I'm looking forward to spending time on the water with my fly-rod in search of cutthroat trout swimming in the Sheep and other streams that flow out of the southern AB Rockies.
Here's the Sheep river on this morning, and why on mornings like this one, I'm in no hurry to go home.
